Princess Margaret

After the death of his father, Elizabeth succeeded to the throne. The Queen’s obligation was above a wife, mother, daughter, and sister, and all family relationships. In order to keep a distance from the new queen, Margaret and her mother moved out of Buckingham Palace. In those days of sorrow and ignorance, the young Margaret fell in love with her guard, Peter Townsend, who was 16 years older than her.

Although Townsend was divorced from his derailed wife, the relationship still caused a shock throughout the country. According to the Royal Marriage Act, members of the royal family must not be combined with divorced people.

To this end, Margaret wrote a personal letter to Prime Minister Eden, who was newly appointed at the time: "I have decided that I must marry Townsend anyway, even if I give up my own and the grandchildren's succession to the throne. ."

A lot of literature says that the Queen intervened to block her sister's love. But in ‘The crown’, we see that Elizabeth has always hoped that her sister can enjoy the freedom she cannot have. She was always trying to comfort her sister while lobbying the cabinet to let it go. Many years later, people realized that the Queen had written a personal letter to the cabinet, saying that she agreed with her sister’s marriage.

Edward VIII

In less than a year since Edward VIII succeeded to the throne, but he gave up the throne in order to marry Mrs. Simpson who had been married twice. Immediately, Elizabeth's father was forced to take over the throne and finally died of overwork. And he was naturally ‘accused’ as the murderer of his brother’s death, which has always been a pain that he could not avoid.

Although he gave up the throne, he still insisted on his obligation to protect the crown, and he would stand on the side of the crown at any time. At the same time as Elizabeth's succession ceremony, he blew the Scottish bagpipes alone, which contained too many complicated feelings and also showed his inner pain.

Besides his brother’s death, The Marburg document once again badly influenced his relationship with Elisabeth. It contains the subtle relationship between Edward and the German Nazis, and it is more likely to provoke an uproar in today's peaceful years. In the trace of the past, the whole story of the year was gradually outlined. How the Duke of Windsor turned his back on his country, his faith, his family, and the piles made Elizabeth disappointed and angry. Considering it over and over again, Elizabeth decided to reject the request of the Duke of Windsor for a job search in diplomatic department.

Queen Mary

Queen Mary was an important person who supported and helped Elisabeth to make decisions when she just became the queen. ‘The crown must win’ said by Queen Mary influenced Elisabeth a lot, as she was still too young to be a queen and rule a country.

After Elizabeth II married her husband, Prince Philip, Lord Mountbatten proposed that the British dynasty would be renamed the Mountbatten dynasty in the future. After the Queen Mother Empress was informed of the news, she was very angry. She not only angered about Prince Philip’s move, but also pressured Elizabeth II as the Queen Mother of Empress. The conservative Queen Mother thought that this was a violation of the Windsor Dynasty. Traditional rituals are not acceptable.

In the face of the strong opposition of Queen Mother Empress, Elizabeth II had no choice but to follow the wishes of her grandmother and suspend her husband’s proposal. The Empress Dowager was too angry. She called the then Prime Minister of the Church of England, Churchill, to the palace and asked for "the motion of the descendants of Elizabeth II and the name of the dynasty to be maintained as Windsor" to Congress. It was thought by many people that the Queen Mother had intervened in the decision of crown’s indoor politics. Even Elizabeth II was dissatisfied. She had just stepped into the throne, had neither experience nor enough influence, and could only follow his grandmother’s Decide.
